Getting the chance to design a theatre entrance is an exceptional opportunity – even more so when the investor gives you free rein. For me the theatre is a magical place where actors come into close contact with their audiences. Similarly, the theatre entrance is the convergence of the artistic and the “outside” words. Given this, I decided to create an expressive yet minimalist funnel-shaped structure that invites the “outside” world inside. The portal comprises 88 gold-plated duralumin plates, which I chose as it paired well with the interior design of the arcade where the theatre is located. Enjoy the show at Image Black Light Theatre.
